Full Transcript: You know, another thing people ask today is, “How do I find a lawyer?How do I find a real estate lawyer?” And, you know, there’s so many different ways to find a lawyer. But, I mean, I still think the best way to find a lawyer is asking a friend or a family member who has used a real estate lawyer before. Maybe there’s a lawyer in the family, or a lawyer in the extended group of friends that you have, or maybe from your church, or your synagogue, or your golf buddies.

But, you know, it should be someone who already has a personal relationship and an affinity with that attorney. Today, though, a lot of times people don’t have those relationships anymore because, you know, that’s just not what we do and we’re online all the time. And so, one of the things we could start to do is look online. But when you look online, you want to be careful not just to click on people who are paying for an ad for a real estate attorney.

You know, it may be that they have an ad, but you want to go deeper and then look at their reviews. You want to look at their social media platform, and you want to look and see how deep their website is, and to visit their website, and look at their experience, and see how many years of experience they have. And then see, you know, what other people are saying about them. And so, those is in fact another way. And you can also go visit the bar, you know, different bar associations.

You can visit third-party sites like Martindale-Hubbell, or FindLaw, or Avvo, and there are a whole bunch of them that you can visit. And typically, you’ll see people are rated there, and so you’ll get a sense of what the community thinks about that particular attorney. But first and foremost, I still would go back to a personal referral from a friend, the same way, typically, historically, you used to look for, you know, a doctor.
