RENOWNED SOUTH FLORIDA ATTORNEY ROY OPPENHEIM OPENS TAMPA BAY AREA OFFICE

Oppenheim best known for winning high-profile class-action lawsuits

TAMPA, FL – The law firm of Oppenheim Pilelsky, one of South Florida’s most successful boutique law firms, has announced the opening of its first satellite office, in Tampa.

The office, at 100 N. Tampa Street, Suite 3760, will handle consumer class action, as well as catastrophic personal injury and medical malpractice cases. Oppenheim Pilelsky.

Roy D. Oppenheim, who founded the law firm more than a decade ago in Weston, Florida, is best known in the Tampa area for a lawsuit he successfully settled for $600,000 on behalf of a Brandon boy who died as a result of a misdiagnosis of bacterial meningitis at MacDill Air Force Base’s medical clinic.

Oppenheim has had his share of high profile cases, especially class action. He was one of the first attorneys in Florida and nationwide to sue Bridgestone/Firestone, Inc. for putting defective tires on Ford Explorers. Oppenheim forced Firestone to allow consumers to replace their defective tires immediately with tires of any brand (for later compensation) instead of having to wait months in line for official Firestone replacements. As a result, tens of thousands of potentially dangerous vehicles were made safer right away, saving potentially saving dozens of lives on the highway.

Oppenheim also recently won a settlement against the South Broward Hospital District on behalf of the family of a girl born with birth defects. According to Oppenheim, it is rare for any plaintiff to successfully sue a public entity in Florida because of the state’s sovereign immunity laws.

“We look forward to bringing our philosophy of ‘do good and well at the same time’ to Florida’s west coast,” said Oppenheim. “Our goal has always been to take on cases that not only help individual clients with a specific problem, but address larger public policy issues at the same time.”
