Oppenheim Pilelsky, PARTNER ROY D. OPPENHEIM, APPOINTED SOUTH FLORIDA REGIONAL CHAIRMAN OF ANNUAL GIVING FOR PRINCETON UNIVERSITY

WESTON, FL– Roy Oppenheim, a partner at the law firm, Oppenheim Pilelsky, has been appointed South Florida Regional Chairman of Annual Giving for Princeton University by the Section Chairman of Annual Giving. As part of his new appointment, he plans to sponsor social functions and events evolving around interesting and provocative speakers.

Oppenheim, a known civil activist, currently serves on the Princeton Alumni Committee for Broward interviewing prospective candidates for the University and will also now be responsible for encouraging Princeton Alumni in Broward county to contribute money and appreciated securities to the University.

This year’s Annual Giving Campaign marks its 250th anniversary, consistent with the age of the University.

“I view my role far more than just a soliciting agent for the University,” said Oppenheim. “I hope to bring Princeton University back into the lives of our alumni body living in Broward County, particularly through the Internet. I think the task should not be that difficult and I am looking forward to it,” he added.

He is active in both the Broward County and Weston political scenes. He serves on the Executive Committee of the Broward Democratic Executive Committee and was a Florida Delegate to the 1992 Democratic National Convention.

Oppenheim is the immediate past President of the Weston Democratic Club, which he co-founded and was also a founding member and the attorney who incorporated the Association of Homeowners of Weston, and Temple Bnai Aviv, of which he served as its third President. He is also a director and founder of the Weston Foundation, serving as Chairman of its Allocation Committee, and was recently elected as Vice Chairman of the Weston Charter Review Commission. In addition, Oppenheim was recently elected to serve on the Catalina Lighting board of directors.
