AI Architecture: Futuristic Cities

With the ever-evolving landscape of the metaverse, holograms, and focus on artificial intelligence, futuristic cities are being developed. One such futuristic real estate project, AI x Future Cities, relies upon an artificial intelligence imaging tool that generates images based upon written prompts. Using phrases such as “futuristic towers” and “utopian technology,” real estate designs and architecture are created through the use of AI.

While such futuristic buildings  may initially depend upon the prompts provided to the AI, once familiar with the project, the AI trains itself and improves the images over time. With sustainability as the core to  the AI X Future Cities project, futuristic real estate designs include  skyscrapers covered in trees, plants, and algae to act as “air purification towers.” The architect and computational designer behind this project, Manas Bhatia, is also working on a project called “Symbiotic Architecture” where he imagines a future in which buildings are made from living materials. Using “giant” and “ hollowed” as prompts, Bhatia produced images in which  apartments are formed inside redwood-sized trees.

The use of AI in real estate is not new. Virtual real estate commercial and residential development is reliant upon AI. Digital realms are becoming more and more popular as mobile gaming, virtual reality, and  augmented reality offer immersive digital experiences. Certainly, AI has transformed the real estate market by incorporating AI into the purchase, sale, and mortgage process.

Yet, the design of the future buildings and homes is dependent on the terms that the designer initially provides AI and how the AI uses that information subsequently. Many are concerned as to how the future will look; however, all of us may agree that AI is here to stay.

What does this all mean?

Artificial intelligence is being used to create futuristic cities and development, using sustainable materials. Real estate will continue to evolve as we rely more and more on AI not only to construct future spaces but also the real estate process itself.
